To enjoy TV on your PC you need a product called a TV tuner card. There are PCI versions for desktop PCs, and external boxes with USB connections for laptops. The tuner card allows you to connect analog cable, off air antenna, and it has connections for a satellite or cable box. To use a cable or satellite box with ReplayTV PC Edition you will need to make sure the tuner card has “IR Control”, this way ReplayTV PC Edition will be able to change your cable box to the correct channels to record your programs. There are several ways you can watch ReplayTV PC Edition

1. You can use your PC’s monitor.

2. If you have the proper connections on your video card you
can connect your PC to your TV in a similar way you would connect a DVD player to your TV. Separate software and equipment are required.

ReplayTV PC Edition works right out of the box with Hauppauge’s WinTV/PVR tuner cards. WinTV/PVRs include a remote control and
an IR blaster that works with ReplayTV PC Edition.

The WinTV/PVRs also include an “IR receiver”, which the remote control communicates with to control ReplayTV PC Edition. Of course you can use a mouse and keyboard too.
